Abstract

The place and role of technologies in modern business is substantiated. The main characteristics of modern business are presented and the influence of innovations on the management of the range and quality of footwear materials in modern entrepreneurship is substantiated as a separate characteristic of modern business. Ways to satisfy consumer requirements for the product are considered, in particular, the use of new and multifunctional materials, which in turn will open the way to innovative production methods in the footwear industry. It is substantiated that the use of new and multifunctional materials makes it possible to meet two classes of consumer requirements for footwear - biological and social, thus increasing the competitiveness of these products. Commodity-oriented approaches to the formation of the optimal range and quality of materials for footwear are formulated, which in turn affects the cost of the product (goods). Some examples of managing the range and quality of footwear materials are given by using nanotechnology and nanomaterials in this product, which ensures a high level of its consumer properties and obtaining a product with improved and/or fundamentally new consumer properties. The problem of classification of new materials for footwear, which are recognized as an alternative to natural leather, is highlighted. Individual examples of the use of ultra-modern alternative materials to natural leather are given. A brief merchandising description of innovative alternative materials to natural leather is given, in particular, the presentation of individual factors in the "advantages-disadvantages" system. The ecological aspect is highlighted in the presented commodity research of footwear materials, which is an important element of the circular economy. On the basis of the given individual examples, the main problems are formulated and some ways of solving them are proposed. Based on the results of the analysis, the perspective of further research using commodity science approaches to managing the range and quality of footwear materials is outlined. The expediency of developing a classification of footwear materials, taking into account modern innovative developments, implementing their commodity characteristics, creating a hierarchy of the nomenclature of quality indicators, and developing special recommendations for choosing footwear materials is substantiated.
