INVESTMENTS IN THE TRADE INDUSTRY AS A TOOL FOR POST-WAR ECONOMY RECOVERY OF UKRAINE

Abstract

During the war, the functioning of the domestic trade industry became significantly more complicated, and trends of changes in the internal organization of trade enterprises and forced relocation became clearly evident.The article is devoted to the role of investment in the trade sector as a key tool for the post-war recovery of the Ukrainian economy. Rebuilding the economy requires rapid activation of domestic and foreign trade as a catalyst for economic growth. It is precisely attracting investment to the sector that is a prerequisite for the modernization of trade infrastructure and the rapid digitalization of trade business processes, which determines the relevance of the presented study. The current state of the industry in the conditions of war losses is analyzed. It is substantiated that the functioning of the domestic trade sector has become significantly more complicated, and trends in changing the internal organization of trade enterprises and forced relocation have been clearly identified. A reduction in the number of business entities, a decrease in product sales volumes, and destruction of infrastructure have been identified. The strategic priorities for the development of trade in the post-war period are highlighted, focused on the modernization of logistics systems, digitalization of trade processes, and integration into international markets. National investment problems associated with high risks, a shortage of domestic financial resources and the need for institutional guarantees for private investors have been tracked. An investment mechanism for the restoration of the trade sector has been proposed, which involves a combination of state support, international financial assistance and private capital attraction. It was concluded that planning for the post-war recovery of the trade sector should be based on adequate investment mechanisms, which will ensure the proper effectiveness of overcoming the consequences of the war and the long-term sustainability of the national economy of Ukraine. Further scientific research should cover the issue of ensuring the effective implementation of investment projects aimed at the development of digital retail, increasing the energy efficiency of trade services and integrating Ukraine into global supply chains.
