The aim of the scientific journal "Tourism and Hospitality Industry in Central and Eastern Europe" is to create an advanced interdisciplinary platform for the systemic analysis, generation, dissemination, and popularization of high-quality scientific knowledge and results of fundamental and applied research that define the architecture of the modern service sector.
The journal is dedicated to shaping a global scientific discourse and promoting priority areas that integrate economic, technological, socio-cultural, environmental, and other aspects of the tourism and hospitality industry's development amidst post-industrial transformation and global instability.
Our mission is to support intellectual leadership that facilitates the industry's transition from a model of passive resource consumption to a paradigm of regenerative development and resilience. We aim to provide high-quality scientific support for the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine and its integration into the European economic space.
To fulfill its mission, the Editorial Board focuses on addressing the following set of strategic objectives:
- Facilitating the evolution of fundamental concepts in tourismology and hospitality through the lens of modern economic theories (circular economy, experience economy, sustainable management, etc.);
- publishing research that utilizes complex mathematical models, econometric analysis, and Foresight technologies to forecast the development of tourism systems;
- validating and disseminating models for the revitalization of destinations affected by armed aggression, and developing crisis management strategies for tourism infrastructure;
- substantiating Memory Tourism as a tool for preserving national identity and a means for the economic revival of communities (hromadas);
- highlighting innovative achievements in the areas of "smart" tourism and "smart" hospitality, as well as the practical application of generative artificial intelligence, big data, blockchain technologies, the Internet of Things, etc.;
- researching issues of cybersecurity, digital ethics, and media literacy in the context of the functioning of global booking systems and brand reputation management;
- highlighting advanced achievements in the field of sustainable development of tourism and hospitality to ensure industry resilience;
- popularising the concept of Nature-based Rehabilitation and regenerative tourism aimed at restoring natural capital as a strategic asset for the medical and psychological rehabilitation of veterans, people with disabilities, and IDPs;
- forming a scientific basis for the implementation of universal design principles, ensuring physical and informational accessibility of services for people with disabilities and veterans;
- researching the psychological aspects of hospitality, empathy, and social inclusion as factors in building consumer loyalty;
- intensifying the dialogue between scientific schools of Central and Eastern Europe and the global academic community through the publication of high-quality English-language materials;
- creating conditions for the implementation of large-scale comparative studies and participating in the formation of international quality standards for tourism education;
- strictly adhering to the double-blind peer review policy to guarantee the objectivity and scientific significance of each publication;
- providing open access to scientific knowledge, which contributes to the growth of authors' citation indices and the transparency of academic communication;
- cultivating the principles of academic integrity and combating plagiarism at all stages of the editorial and publishing cycle.
